Dr. Albert Garner

Dr. Albert Garner, in addition to the 23 volume, verse-by-verse Baptist Commentary, wrote more than 25 Bible study helps and textbooks used in some 150 Bible Institutes, Colleges, and Seminaries around the world. He was graduated from the following: Harding University, B.A.; Baylor University, M.A.; and Missionary Baptist Seminary, Th.D. From 1945-1958 He served as a writer for the Baptist Sunday School Committee of the American Baptist Association (a fellowship of Independent, Fundamental Baptist Churches). He served as Instructor in Jacksonville Baptist College from 1947-1948 and as Dean and Instructor at Texas Baptist Institute and Seminary from 1948-1957. In 1957, he was called to serve as the first full-time President of Florida Baptist Institute, College, and Seminary, a position he held from May 1957 to August 1970, at which time he resigned to write, fund, and publish the 23 volume Garner-Howes Baptist Commentary. His writings are characterized by a simplicity of style, depth of content, and challenging interpretation of conservative, Bible honoring doctrines.

NOTE:

Dr. Garner went home to a faithful servant's reward on August 23, 2008. His work continues through the labors of his son, George Garner and the help of a faithful team.
